The 2nd House is the energy field of belonging on earth and knowing that you are precious in the eyes of the divine. How can your possessions and resources help you to realize your inner essence and worthiness? It doesn’t matter how much wealth you accumulate over a lifetime. You can own the entire planet and you’ll still need to die at some point. Can you utilize your wealth and resources to expand consciousness on the planet? Your values will reflect your intrinsic self-worth. If you value only material things, then your self-worth might be based on these limitations. If you value the inner life and psychological things, your capacity for worthiness increases. If you value all these things and the spiritual path, you will feel like you belong no matter your financial circumstances. Yehoshua said, “Where your heart lies, that is where your treasure will be.” No matter what happens in the changing world of forms you will always be connected to your source. The material world is a reflection of the spiritual realm residing within the plane of consciousness. Many people can only imagine buying their happiness, but it isn’t for sale. The cost of this realization is absolutely nothing. As long as your self-worth and inner peace depend on material things, then it will always rise and fall. You can set yourself up for disappointment because the material realm isn’t interested in being perfect by human standards. Your computer can crash. Your car can break down. Your loved ones can die. Your money can get lost or stolen. Your life can turn into a continual repair drama where you are constantly struggling to fix things. By staying centered in the inner flow of the spiritual river, you can embrace the wisdom of change. You still have desires and want ice cream and love, but you don’t feel like your forcing it or striving. Your life is simple yet abundant. Planets in the 2nd House indicate the forces of consciousness that you are working through to discover inner peace and to build your field of wealth. Living in the dimension of time comes at a price. You must eat, sleep somewhere, and nurture your body. A few people eat only what they are given, sleep under bridges, and meditate all day. Others live in twelve bedroom houses and stock enormous resources. Your style of abundance will be shaped by the planets and signs that occupy your 2nd House. These archetypes and forces of consciousness will be intimately involved in helping your to provide for your needs on this sojourn of your soul. They will reflect what you value. What you value will determine what you are drawn to do for a living (6th House). What you do for a living will affect the shape of your life calling (10th House). The 2nd House and 8th House form a naturally polarity called the Axis of Being. Your personal resources and self-worth (2nd House) will show what you have to share with others (8th House), just as the results of your sharing with others will add to or diminish your own sense of belonging. The ancient keywords for these two realms were “possessions” and “change.” This reflects the universal principle of transformation. Within this energetic circuit power struggles are likely to manifest within or outside you. What you have or use individually is demonstrated in the communal resource pool through the collective benefits achieved. A man uses a tool to hoe a garden, producing food for the village. A woman purchases wood in order to build a shelter, which will benefit generations to come. A man joins with a woman to share his seed with hers and they produce a child vessel for another soul. The key to attaining balance in this polarity of consciousness lies in surrendering your wealth to creative, spiritual causes that not only help to expand and uplift your own life, but also the lives of others.
